Purpose of the review
A review of an expert’s or specialist’s conclusion helps to assess how complete, consistent, justified, and verifiable the conclusion is. It does not replace a forensic examination, but it can be used to prepare objections, additional questions, expert interrogation, and a motion for additional or repeated examination.
Purpose of the review
The review does not replace the examination of the product itself. It analyzes the quality of the conclusion that has already been prepared: initial data, methods, completeness of the study, logical connection between the research part and the conclusions.
What is checked
- compliance of the conclusion with the questions posed;
- completeness of the description of objects and materials;
- essential adequacy of the initial data;
- presence of a description of the research methods;
- reference to normative, technical, or operational documents;
- availability of information about the equipment used;
- logical connection between the research part and the conclusions;
- presence of contradictions or speculative conclusions;
- exceeding the expert's competence;
- substitution of specialized conclusions with a legal assessment.
When additional or repeated expertise may be required
Additional expertise may be necessary if the conclusion is incomplete or unclear, not all questions have been answered, not all objects have been examined, or new questions have arisen.
Repeated expertise may be necessary if there are doubts about the objectivity or validity of the conclusion, conclusions contradict case materials, the research procedure was violated, or the expert did not examine significant circumstances.
Send documents for preliminary assessment
Describe the situation and attach photos, documents, or archive. After reviewing the materials, an expert will inform you about the possibility of research, timelines, and the procedure for further work.
