Specialist’s report

Written opinion of a specialist on issues of quality, condition, causes of defects, and cost of goods.

When a specialist’s conclusion is needed

A specialist’s conclusion is a written opinion of a person possessing specialized knowledge on issues posed by a client, a party representative, a lawyer, an organization, or a citizen.

  • before approaching the court;
  • at the stage of a claim to the seller, contractor, or supplier;
  • for assessing the prospects of a dispute;
  • for preparing a petition for the appointment of a court examination;
  • for formulating questions to the expert;
  • for checking the conclusions of the other party.

Practical role of the document

The specialist's conclusion helps to demonstrate the technical side of the dispute before the court examination: which characteristics are identified, which documents are considered, what conclusions can be drawn within the scope of commodity science knowledge.

What can be examined

For the specialist's conclusion, the materials are usually provided by the client. These can be the product, photographs, purchase documents, contract, warranty documents, claim, seller's response, correspondence, inspection reports, documents on repair, transportation, storage, or use.

If answering the question requires inspecting the object, the object is either handed over to the specialist or a site visit is organized. If the examination is possible based on documents and photographic materials, this is assessed separately before the start of work.

What will be in the conclusion

  • information about the specialist;
  • basis for the request;
  • list of submitted materials;
  • questions posed;
  • description of the research object;
  • analysis of documents and features;
  • conclusions on the questions posed;
  • photographic materials and attachments if necessary.

What the specialist's conclusion is not

The specialist's conclusion does not replace a judicial examination if a court has assigned an examination in the case. At the same time, it can be used to prepare a position, claim, petition, objection, or explanation on the merits of the dispute.

Send documents for preliminary assessment

Describe the situation and attach photos, documents, or archive. After reviewing the materials, an expert will inform you about the possibility of research, timelines, and the procedure for further work.
